Before Tom Stock, CLU, ChFC was a financial representative, he was a restaurant manager. Tom chose this path because he liked working with people and wanted a more rewarding career. He also wanted more control over his direction in life. He has been a financial representative since 1984.
Tom is active in his community, including past chairman of the board of the Crystal Lake Chamber, and the planning and zoning commissioner in Lake in the Hills, IL. He is president elect, Lake in the Hills Rotary Club, and Crystal Lake Chamber Ambassador, Legislative Committee. Tom is also an active member of the Precision Marching Lawn Chair Dads.
Tom offers his thoughts about the career:
"We are in a people business. The sooner you can grasp the system of getting a large quantity of good quality introductions, the sooner you will be a success. The culture of, "the client (policy owner) is who we need to be accountable to," permeates the company, top to bottom."
"The greatest reward is facing new challenges that I may not have had to face in the environment I was in prior. Personal growth is what I appreciate the most."
"The career has its challenges, too, such as merging my attitude of serving people with being a good business man. And early in the career, it's challenging to keep a constant stream of good quality people in my system."
"Along the way, I have learned that I am absolutely right for this career. I am an optimist. I am a good leader."
